 The Curious Museum Generalist

I am deeply inspired to create innovative experiences that are responsive to the needs of communities and visitors, provoke exploration, and build bridges across divides. Throughout my tenure at the world’s largest children’s museum, I have worked alongside and learned from leaders in the field. I am most proud of the work to continuously innovate and discover new ways to bring exhibit content to life as well as innovate our internal processes to work more effectively with colleagues in marketing, digital and web media to extend experiences beyond our campus.

Mission and Values

Mission Statement

To create innovative experiences that are responsive to the needs of communities and visitors, provoke exploration, and build bridges across divides.

Core Values

Curiosity is the foundation of life-long learning. Museum experiences should strive to provide that spark of discovery for visitors. Museum leaders should celebrate and nurture this attribute in their teams.

Inclusivity must be woven into every museum element and process. Museum professionals should center marginalized voices and listen earnestly, understand fully, and respect deeply these lived experiences. This knowledge must be used to elevate those voices and create safe and welcoming spaces.

Servant leadership prioritizes and fosters a team mentality. This cultural mindset elevates the lived experience of visitors, advisors, community members (those we create for and with) as well as the expertise of museum colleagues to build trust and joy in collaboration.

Transparency involves good stewardship of staff and financial resources, and thoughtful and thorough decision-making.
